Honestly, I was not interested in reading business or living skill books. In my opinion, what was said or written in these books are all the theory which was hard to be applied into our real lives. However, “Delivering Happiness” by Tony Hsieh kept me enthralled throughtout its meanings and lessons. I couldn’t put it down when I started reading its very first page. I wonder what made me change my attitude and interest. I think it happened due to the following reasons.
The first reason is that I’m probably getting older. I start loving something practical and meaningful. I love to listen to others’ stories which bring me a lot of deep thought about myself. I need to learn from their lessons so that I can adjust my attitude towards people and life.
While I was reading this book I came into many ideas and pieces of advice which one of my friends had talked to me. He is the one who plays an important role in my life. These ideas in this book reflected every single word which he had shared to me. I had to jot them down to show him later. What a great coincidence!
Last, I could see myself in the book. The author has the same character as me in terms of working ethics. We both love working hard and want to bring happiness to others. We are getting bored when we have nothing to do or do something that is not new. We love to think outside the box. Especially, we don’t work because of money, BUT passion and love.
In general, what I have learned from this book will greatly facilitate my current job as well as my life.
